The tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, also known as the citric acid cycle, plays a central role in both energy metabolism and material metabolism, including carbohydrates, lipids, and amino acids. The rate of the TCA cycle is limited by citrate synthase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, and α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase. Elabscience® provides detection of various metabolic substances and enzyme activities involved in the TCA cycle, such as citric acid, acetyl-CoA, malic acid, and the three rate-limiting enzymes.
