Disulfidptosis, a new form of cell death identified in March 2023, mainly occurs in cells with high expression of SLC7A11. Under glucose starvation conditions, intracellular disulfides, such as cysteine, accumulate abnormally, inducing disulfide stress and causing cell death. The process involves glucose uptake, cysteine uptake, and the pentose phosphate pathway. Elabscience®, following current research trends, has developed assay kits for indicators such as cysteine uptake, glucose uptake, NADP+/NADPH, and others to assist in the study of disulfidptosis.
