| General Information |
Fumonisin are mainly produced by F. verticillioides and F. proliferatum. Among fumonisins B, FB1 and FB2 have the highest content, and Fumonisin B1 is the most toxic. Corn and corn products are susceptible to FB1 infection. Fumonisin is a prominent promoter of liver cancer, it was confirmed in a two-year FDA study that it has carcinogenic effects.
