Detection Principle Malondialdehyde (MDA) in the degradation products of peroxidized lipids can react with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) under high temperature and acidic conditions to produce the red-brown product 3,5,5 '-trimethyloxazole-2, 4-dione (trimethine), and this substance has the maximum absorption peak at 532 nm.
