background | Carcinoembryonic antigen M2A (D2-40) is a 40kDa O-linked sialoglycoprotein that is a selective marker of lymphatic endothelium in normal tissues and vascular lesions. D2-40 was expressed on the surface of spermatogenic cells, germ cell tumors, lymphatic endothelial cells and mesothelial cells in the testis, and on the surface of mesothelial cells and primordial germ cells. Studies have shown that D2-40 is stained in the lymphatic endothelium, but not in the adjacent capillaries. It is usually used to mark the lymphatic endothelium in tissues, which is helpful for the diagnosis of lymphatic endothelial cell tumors and the judgment of lymphatic invasion and metastasis in other tumor tissues. |
