background CDX2 is a kind of intestinal specific transcription factor, which is expressed in the early stage of intestinal development, participates in regulating the proliferation and differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells, and locates on the villi and crypt surface of intestinal epithelium. In the gut (from duodenum to rectum), CDX2 nucleoprotein is strongly and evenly expressed in all types of epithelial cells. In tumor tissue, CDX2 is expressed in most colorectal adenocarcinoma and appendiceal adenocarcinoma. CDX2 is a relatively sensitive and specific marker of intestinal adenocarcinoma. CDX2 deficiency can promote the development of sporadic colon cancer, and it is also a significant feature of low differentiation colorectal cancer.
